Gro-Daddy Installation

Step #1

Remove the Gro-Daddys from the packaging and lay flat.  The package contains 3 Gro-Daddys, poly string and small plastic circles.  Using a standard wire clothes hanger, straighten the hanger and create a loop at one end.  The loop will be used to push the poly string through the top tube of the Gro-Daddy.

Step #2

Thread the poly string into the hose hole (any string will work), through the top tube and out the small hole at the outer edge of the Gro-Daddy.  Repeat this until the draw string goes through the entire top tube and exits the same hole where it started.

Step #3

Dip a 6″ deep hole in the garden soil the same diameter as the Gro-Daddy and set the empty Gro-Daddy into the hole on edge (fill holes up).

Step #4 (picture 18)

Backfill inside and then outside of the Gro-Daddy while planting your seedling.  Garden soil should cover the bottom 6″ of the Gro-Daddy both inside and out.

Step #5 (pictures 11, 12)

Using a standard garden hose , fill each of the two sides of the Gro-Daddy through the hose holes on each side.

Step #6 Optional (picture 20)

Using silicone caulking, attach the small circles on one side so that the circles become flaps over the hose holes (still allowing the hose to occasionally top off the cells).  The circles can be attached either inside or outside of the holes.

Step #7 (picture 25)

Water well around the inside of the Gro-Daddy and the seedling.  Using the draw string, draw closed the top of the Gro-
Daddy and watch your plants grow!

Hints:

*   Adjusting the level of water in the cells can allow the top to be drawn partially closed to completely closed.  Experiment on what works best
for you.

*   An adjustable nozzle on your garden hose is easier to thread into the top tube.
*   If a hard freeze is predicted, wrap the Gro-Daddy in aluminum foil and a thermal blanket for added protection and heat conservation.
